Welcome to the Body Matter Membership and Course Library with your instructor Sarah Baumert! 

I offer Yoga and Feldenkrais® Awareness Through Movement group classes, Functional Integration® lessons, private yoga, and group retreats. I am glad that you found your way here. I’ve worked with hundreds of students to help them learn more about the importance of their bodies, especially in this ever-changing world.

I am currently offering a full schedule of online Zoom group classes and series, in-person Functional Integration® lessons, and remote private lessons. I offer a little something for everyone, whether you are trying a Yoga or Feldenkrais® practice for the first time, or if you already have some knowledge of these methods.


About

Yoga

Sarah’s classes are a blend of flowing yoga asanas, or poses, informed by precise attention to alignment, and supported by the calm wakefulness of Buddhist meditation practices. In her classes you will explore how you can clarify the use of your skeletal alignment as a means to generate and increase power in your poses, resulting in the clarification of your intentions and a greater overall body awareness. 

The Feldenkrais Method®

In Feldenkrais® Awareness Through Movement® lessons, you use your attention to learn something about how you move. As you practice, you build self-awareness, recognize your habits, and find new and more expansive ways of moving. The benefits include increased range of motion, improved flexibility and coordination, and a capacity for graceful, ease-filled movement. 

Working One on One

I am offering individually-tailored Awareness Through Movement® lessons, private yoga via Zoom as well as hands on Functional Integration® lessons. In Functional Integration, the teacher guides an individual student in movement lessons using gentle, non-invasive touch as the primary means of communication. These sessions may interest those who would like more individual attention clarity and direction/or have specific needs or issues they are working on.
